I am mostly drawn to psychological thrillers but sometimes you just need a break. This is a mix of books I’ve read recently. The majority of my books I get through the Libby app that connects my library card. You can rent them on the app and read them on your kindle!
You’ve Been Volunteered: A Class Mom Novel
I think this is the second book in this series but I didn’t really know that until afterwards. You don’t need to read the books in order. This was such a funny, quick, and light read.

I was in a Verity hangover and needed to switch genres. I started on a rom com kick and this was the perfect book to start it off. We read this for our book club and I fell in love with it. It’s so witty, fun, and sweet that I think anyone will love this one. I don’t read books multiple times, except for Harry Potter, but I’d read this again for sure!

I was so hooked on The Unhoneymooners that I jumped on the chance to read this one by Christina Lauren. Loved it so much.

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
Last Christina Lauren pick. Sorry, I was on a serious kick and they were just so cute that I couldn’t stop reading.

I just finished this one and honestly, I wasn’t loving this story at first. It was odd and a little slow but I ended up really enjoying it. I felt like it hit very normal themes about marriage, family, teens, etc. FYI I enjoyed this as an audio book much better than I did reading it.
![The Couple Next Door: A Novel by [Shari Lapena]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51cbpgsfDNL.jpg)
I listened to this one and it was entertaining. Not my favorite but enjoyable. The one below by Shari Lapena I liked much better.

I liked this one much better than The Couple Next Door actually. This was really enjoyable and I finished it on a staycation with my husband. Ah, remember when we could go places…good times.
I should also add that if you love thrillers you need some B.A. Paris in your life. I listened to a lot of them on Libby and loved them! I’m a huge fan.

HOLY MOLY. This book is a fascinating read that is a blend of Hunger Games, Handmaids Tale, and Lord of the Flies. I mean, it’s NUTS! Someone please read this so we can discuss.

This is our newest book club pick and I haven’t started it yet. It’s only $2.99 on kindle if you want to read along!
I will most likely add a couple more to my currently reading list since there are a few books that I’ve started and just need to finish.

5. Gilmore Girls – this is definitely in my very tippy top favorite shows of all time; this and The Office. My best friend has been watching the series for the first time while she’s on maternity leave and it gave me a hankering (southern speak) to re-watch the series for the 600th time. Little did I know my husband would watch it with me! It’s been such a fun show to watch together and he will deny this but he actually really likes it…sorry babe 🙂

I’ve been really quiet this past week for a couple of reasons. The first being, I just took on some bigger responsibilities at work and it has kicked my butt. I love that it’s keeping me busy and my mind occupied but it’s also been exhausting. The other reason I’ve been quiet started last weekend. Did you all know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? I just noticed that this year for the first time. In light of that, I thought I would share a little bit of my story with depression. I’ve struggled with depression over the past couple of years and have been in counseling since. For about a year I’ve felt like I had it under control or whatever that means. I felt like I had “conquered” my depression. Those of you that have also struggled with depression know that’s not really possible.
